The Dunmow Flitch Trials is an historical event of which this town is rightly proud. However, as anyone who has been involved in organising such events will tell you, it takes an extraordinary amount of time, commitment and money to make it happen.

  • 10:30 Trial one starts
  • 11:15 Jury retire - interval (15 mins)
  • 11:45 Trial ends, procession leaves Trials marquee for Oath Taking (along Stortford Road to Market Place)
  • 12.00 Oath Taking ceremony commences (Market Place)
  • 12.00 Events on the field begin

Afternoon

  • 13:30 Procession departs from Saracens Head (along Stortford Road to Talberds Ley and Trials marquee)
  • 13:45 Procession arrives at the Trials marquee (Talberds Ley)
  • 14:00 Trial two starts
